ABOUT
"Chris Summerlin is an illustrator and musician living and working in Nottingham. Originally making gig posters out of necessity for the Damn You! collective of gig promoters that he was part of, he has now designed over 200 gig posters for clients all over the world; as well as countless record sleeves and magazine illustrations all embracing a love of bold colour and clear, simple design.
He still uses Photoshop 5.0, a PC made in 1998 and a lightbox made out of a record player lid. He can confirm that wearing a dressing gown to "work" and eating eggs every single day has no adverse effects on his output. His favourite film is Trading Places. His favourite band is Lungfish. He finds it very annoying when people steal his pens. His grey hair to normal hair ratio is beginning to bother him"

A random selection of my work is shown below. I have a Blog that I will be updating with current work (among other things) here:

I am usually quite busy but am always keen to take on new work: my rates are exceptionally cheap and I am happy to discuss anything you have in mind.
I also work closely with several very skilled photographers should you wish to incorporate a mixture of graphic and photographic material in a piece of work.

GIG POSTERS
I've designed over 200 posters for shows over the last 10 years or so. These are posters made first and foremost to promote the shows in question, they were printed up at the time and plastered over venue walls, pub toilets and other exciting places. I even put one on a guy's back once and let him walk round Nottingham with it for a day before he noticed. That's another story though.
I started selling prints of these in small numbers a few years back. They're all a little larger than A3 in size (somewhere around 310mm wide by 430 mm high give our take a few mmmmmms) and they fit very pleasingly into a standard clip frame from Wilkos. They're litho-printed using a machine that cost a million pounds. This isn't a joke, it really cost a million pounds. Needless to say, I don't own it. It lays the colours down as pure tones meaning these look absolutely perfect, bright, vibrant and flawless. They're also printed on various types on heavy paper stock, usually Splendorgel (if you're in the business). That means very thick, matt-textured paper if you're not. They look and feel (and smell) tremendous.
A HUGE GALLERY OF THEM ALL IS HERE: http://www.honeyisfunny.com/catalogue.html
And there are also limited prints of illustrations I have done for magazines like Plan B that you can see above in my portfolio or on my Flickr page which is linked below.
I have sold out of a lot of these designs and I don't plan to make prints of new designs to sell anymore either. I do have copies of some of them left kicking around my house though so if you're after something specific email me at: honeyisfunnyATfastmailDOTfm
