A lot of guitar players "gurn". In all of them except Lord Philippe this is pure affectation - a ploy to raise the spirits in the crowd. It is pure entertainment. However, Lord Philippe is merely a conduit for the beautiful sounds he creates. He is forced to gurn in this manner in order to channel the righteous sounds from the ether, through his fucking shitty Epiphone guitar and into YOUR ear. Lord J may look unimpressed but his slightly disappointed look in fact stems from the knowledge that he, or anyone else for that matter, will never play anything as beautiful as the sounds he is hearing and as a result he is simply overcome by loss.
